Maintain and develop world class gardens and plant collections at the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens.
About the role
As a Horticulturist at the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (RTBG), you will:
Develop and implement horticultural work programs.
Maintain and improve plant collections, displays and estate grounds.
Monitor and manage plant health.
Operate and maintain automatic irrigation systems, horticultural equipment and machinery.
Provide advice and liaise with staff, stakeholders and the public.

Hours per fortnight
76.0 hours per fortnight (minimum 60.8 hours, by negotiation).
Period of appointment
24 months.
A Certificate III (Horticulture Cert 3 (AHC30716) in Horticulture or an equivalent level, relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by either a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
Accredited competency in the use of chainsaws.
Experience in a similar role in a botanical garden, or large public garden.
