Position Details Food Service Worker Substitute Haslett Public Schools December 5, **** REQUIREMENTS : Previous food service experience, preferably in a school setting.
Knowledge of food preparation methods, portion control, proper food handling and storage, inventory control and food ordering.
Knowledge and experience in cash handling, cashiering.
Good math and accounting skills.
Knowledge of food safety laws and regulations.
Ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a school setting.
Ability to communicate with students, parents, and staff in an appropriate and respectful manner.
Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
Positive attitude and willingness to work for improvement.
Ability to follow the requirements of school food service.
Valid ServSafe Certification DUTIES : Serve meals to students in a friendly and pleasant manner.
Assist in preparation and stocking of food and service of school lunch.
Maintain high sanitary and safety standards in the kitchen and storage areas.
Accurate cash handling and accounting for daily sales, including performing cashier duties.
Perform dishwasher duties.
Properly clean pots, pans, utensils, and equipment daily.
Receive and handle food and kitchen items as needed.
Work with the Director of Food and Nutrition Services toward effective and efficient food service operation.
Perform duties at different sites in the district as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Food and Nutrition Services.
HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT : On call, 2 to 4 hours per day as needed (Follows school schedule) $12 per hour.
