This position provides an excellent opportunity for a high-performing individual who is driven by a desire to achieve environmental benefits for Victoria's catchment and waterway management and water resource management. The successful candidate will be responsible for development, delivery and implementation of key projects and policy to support waterway management in Victoria, and compliance with international, national and statewide obligations, including supporting implementation of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan in northern Victoria and statewide strategies such as the Victorian Waterway Management Strategy.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

* Essential – a degree qualification or higher, preferably in science, environmental engineering, natural resource management, environmental law, or a relevant equivalent.

* Highly desirable – demonstrated knowledge of aquatic ecology, Victoria's catchment and waterway management and water resource management frameworks, and/or knowledge of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan.

This is a fixed term position available until 19 February 2027. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson St East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
