The Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Service (ATODS) in Mount Isa is seeking a Psychologist, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist to join their dedicated team.

North West Hospital and Health Service are looking for an experienced Health professional to join their team based at Mount Isa. Applicants with qualifications as a Psychologist or Social Worker or Occupational Therapist are encouraged to apply.

About The Role

Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs (ATODS) are a multidisciplinary team that provide a comprehensive range of public health and clinical interventions aimed at reducing the risks and harms associated with substance use.

* Deliver evidence-based drug and alcohol assessment, treatment, and support across the North West Hospital and Health Service.
* Manage a clinical caseload with accurate, compliant documentation.
* Support community engagement initiatives to reduce alcohol and drug-related harm.
* Participate in the Needle and Syringe Program, collaborating with Queensland Health and partner agencies.


Requirements

* Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
* Psychologists: Mandatory possession of a tertiary degree in Psychology and eligible for current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Psychology Board.
* Social Workers: Mandatory possession of a tertiary degree in Social Work providing eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers is required.
* Blue Card Check (Social Workers): Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a 'working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
* Occupational Therapists: Mandatory possession of a degree in Occupational Therapy and eligibility for current registration (AHPRA) – Occupational Therapist Board.
* C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
* Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
* This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
* A period of probation may apply.
