Overview Work Type: Ongoing - Full-time Salary: $113,022 - $136,747 Grade: VPS 5 Occupation: Land, asset, resources and facilities management Location: Loddon Mallee - Mildura Reference: 1305 Are you ready to lead a team that shapes the future of forest and fire management across our district? As the Manager, District Forest and Fire Planning, you’ll play a pivotal role in bringing our tactical plans to life, ensuring the safe, effective and strategic delivery of our forest and fire management programs. In this leadership position, you’ll guide a dedicated team of planning specialists to develop high‑quality tactical plans, including Burn Plans, Site Plans, Works Orders and PBRATs. You’ll champion strong, transparent planning processes, ensuring all documentation meets legislative requirements, DEECA standards and best-practice doctrine. Working closely with the District Manager, you’ll help ensure local knowledge, priorities and community needs are reflected in operational and strategic planning processes. Your expertise will help shape the district’s contribution to key programs such as the Joint Fuel Management Program and the Operational Forest Management Program. You’ll also collaborate with our Forest and Fire Engagement Team to ensure meaningful, two‑way engagement with stakeholders, helping us deliver works that are well‑planned, well‑communicated and well‑supported. Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
* Knowledge of tactical planning of forest and fuel management programs/services, with experience working with planning systems including FMS, eMAP and ArcGIS (or similar)
* Tertiary qualifications in natural resource or environmental management, or public policy (desirable)
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is Irymple, with hybrid work arrangements available.
