Team Leader (Ancillary Services), Youth Justice and Victim Support – Townsville, Australia
Responsibilities
* Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
* Live the Queensland Public Sector and organisational values to achieve outstanding outcomes for the organisation and young people.
* Providing leadership and guidance to the Kitchen Services and Supervisor Ancillary Services to ensure appropriate supervision and coordination of the catering, cleaning, laundry and maintenance staff on a daily basis. Including roster management, undertaking performance development planning and managing performance when necessary.
* Actively contribute to and follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and work policies and procedures relating to maintaining a safe workplace that values the health and safety of co-workers, young people and visitors with a focus on infection control management practices.
* Support the Manager, Business Services to plan, contribute to and maintain a quality management system that provides a continuous improvement focus and supports staff practices, quality care and associated services, consistent with legislative requirements and industry standards.
* Undertake decision-making and problem-solving that ensures evidence-based best practice is established in overall Ancillary services delivery.
* Facilitate a team approach to Ancillary service delivery, including promoting an environment that supports and empowers staff to use documentation and data as decision-making tools in the problem-solving process.
* Work collaboratively with the Manager Business Services to support sound financial management, resource planning and decision making with regards to the Ancillary services functions.
* Act as a role model and mentor to motivate, develop, recruit and retain a skilled workforce.
* Actively participate in ongoing evaluation and revision of Ancillary service provision to continuously improve systems, processes and procedures to ensure young person focused outcomes.
* Set up and document best practice and contemporary standard operating procedures and systems to effectively manage and direct the daily operations of Ancillary services.
