Job Overview:
The Sales Manager role provides leadership and strategic direction to drive growth of new unit and aftermarket orders.
This position involves participating in customer meetings and collaborating with commercial managers and account managers to negotiate deals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Sell and promote reciprocating products across territories, managing a team of sales professionals and independent agents as needed
* Contribute to the development of marketing policies, including pricing, terms, and conditions, product development, promotions, and incentive programs
* Facilitate communication and coordination between Product, Aftermarket, and Finance Departments, as well as other sales department members
* Oversee the selection, administration, and motivation of the sales team and independent agents in assigned territories
* Establish sales goals and evaluate performance, conducting annual reviews of team members and distributor performance
* Support strategic customer credit and collection issues
* Travel extensively (approximately 75% of the time) to research and accomplish sales objectives
* Participate in annual sales goal setting and budget planning, establishing territorial action plans
* Collect monthly sales activity reports and short-term order forecasts
* Provide insights on market changes, customer needs, and industry developments
* Stay informed about competitor activities and report findings
* Maintain relationships with existing customers and develop new business opportunities
* Perform additional duties as required
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college preferred
* Minimum High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution with at least 7 years of sales experience
* At least 7 years of Oil & Gas Industry experience with a focus on sales origination
* Knowledge of combustion, emissions, and performance standards for reciprocating engines
* Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers
* Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
* Commitment to safety, customer service quality, and teamwork
