Design Coordinator (Commercial)

We are offering an outstanding opportunity for a high-performing Design Coordinator to join our commercial division.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, your role will be to assist in managing the design process through coordination of consultants, review of drawings, and facilitation of design documentation that supports safe, efficient, and high-quality construction to Shelford's high standards of delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Managing the design coordination from initial start-up to IFC and handover to the project team.
Coordinating consultant outputs across architecture, structural, civil, and building services disciplines.
Monitoring, reviewing, checking and managing documentation to ensure accuracy and timely release.
Preparing, maintaining and meeting design programme in accordance with our contractual obligations.
Supporting design reviews, constructability assessments, and approval processes.
Working closely with estimating and project teams throughout tendering and project delivery.
Assisting in identifying design risks, resolving issues, and driving improvements.
Contributing to the management of RFIs, variations, and project documentation.
Leading design development meetings with consultants and clients.
Coordinating and facilitating Safety in Design Workshops (SID's).
Required Qualifications
Formal qualifications in Engineering (Structural Preferred), Architecture or Construction Management.
3–5 years' experience in design coordination and documentation management within the construction industry.
Strong technical and structural understanding, with a focus on practical buildability.
Confident ability to read, interpret, and review drawings, reports, and specifications.
Excellent organisation and stakeholder communication skills.
Experience across multiple types of commercial construction types and clientele.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in Revit/CAD, with the ability to manage and coordinate design models across disciplines.
