Job Description
The Salvation Army has been chosen to deliver the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme Community Connections Program for the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.
We are seeking a Regional Coordinator to facilitate meaningful connections between PALM workers and their local communities in Australia.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to map local networks, including Pacific Islands and Timor-Leste diaspora and South Sea Islander communities;
* Maintain national contacts directory;
* Facilitate building relationships between local contacts and workers on the PALM Scheme;
* Develop and translate community information resources into appropriate languages;
* Coordinate cultural competency information and resources for PALM Program stakeholders;
* Liaise with local networks to gather information and good news stories;
* Document issues and challenges from the local level and communicate them to the National Co-ordinator;
* Support program reporting, communications, project planning, and evaluation.
Requirements
In addition to your proactive attitude, you will have:
* Bachelor's degree in community development or a related field or demonstrated equivalent relevant experience, knowledge and skills;
* Studies or demonstrated relevant experience in project management and/or community and stakeholder engagement;
* Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in dealing with diverse stakeholders;
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines;
* Intermediate ability with document preparation, customer relations management platforms, e-mail and web browser;
* Experience working with people of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds;
* Familiarity with Pacific Islands and/or Timorese cultures;
* Pacific Islander, South Sea Islander or Timorese background preferred.
