How will your ideas contribute to shaping what's next?
As a Strategic Planner within our Environment and Planning team, you'll work with a team of highly skilled specialists. You'll be a trusted partner to a diverse range of local and interstate clients and develop a deep understanding of their challenges to co-create innovative solutions that help shape the future of our cities. You'll drive value, connect assets to strategy and proactively respond to disruptive change.
Here are the key things you'll do:
- Provide specialist technical input to our government clients for strategic land use projects and key placemaking activities
- Provide advice to both internal and external clients in relation to the delivery of strategic land use planning projects, driving integrated solutions and sustainable planning outcomes
- Contribute to the leadership of multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver projects, prepare reports and presentations that bring together technical assessments, manage sub-consultants, and assist the preparation of fee proposals and tender submissions.

We value that each of our team members brings something different to Aurecon. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life.
Alongside your industry experience in policy development, strategy implementation and project management, you'll also have:
- A relevant urban planning degree or equivalent qualification
- Strong project management skills with the ability to work independently
- High level of interest in working to support major infrastructure projects, including co-location with clients in project offices (where practicable)
- Understanding of the decision drivers of Commonwealth, State and local government to inform the preparation of planning strategies, site masterplans, and structure plans
- The ability to think of the big picture and the future urban context whilst considering multiple possibilities
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills for facilitating relationships with internal and external clients and decision-makers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting planning reports and projects.
