Job Summary
Maintaining the exterior appearance of our community is a vital responsibility. As a Groundskeeper, you will ensure that our life plan community looks its best at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* We perform routine maintenance on grounds, roads, parking areas, walkways, equipment, and other facilities to keep them in good condition.
* Lawn grooming, shrub trimming, and edging are essential tasks that require attention to detail and a keen eye for quality.
* Repairing fencing and various landscaping as needed helps to maintain the aesthetic appeal of our community.
* Painting areas as required adds a touch of vibrancy and color to our surroundings.
* During winter weather, we plow and salt roads, walkways, entrances, and driveways to ensure safe passage for residents and staff members.
* In the fall, it's crucial to keep gutters free of leaves to prevent damage to our buildings.
* We complete assigned tasks and work orders within 24-48 hours to meet deadlines and exceed expectations.
* We may assist with moving furniture as assigned to help with logistical tasks.
* Conducting preventative maintenance on tools and equipment as assigned helps to extend their lifespan and reduce downtime.
Quality, Compliance, and Risk Management
* We ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner to prevent accidents and injuries.
* We properly use, maintain, and store equipment, tools, supplies, and vehicles to minimize risks and optimize performance.
* We perform duties in accordance with all safety and OSHA requirements to protect ourselves and others.
* We report any damage or repairs to grounds, facilities, supplies, or equipment needing done to the supervisor promptly.
* We share observations and insights of departmental operations to improve quality and efficiencies of the department.
* We attend all-employee and departmental meetings and in-service training as scheduled or as directed to stay informed and up-to-date.
Customer Relations and Service Delivery
* We listen and respond to the needs of residents and staff members to provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
* A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
* No experience is necessary; on-the-job training is provided.
* Knowledge of lawn and landscaping methods, tools, and equipment is helpful but not essential.
* You must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently.
* A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required. You must also be insurable under professional liability and crime coverage policies as specified by insurance carrier underwriting standards.
