This role focuses on developing and executing social media strategies, optimising digital engagement, and leveraging data insights to drive audience growth and brand awareness.With a key focus on TikTok expansion, KPI tracking, website management, and analytics, the role requires a blend of creative content development, performance analysis, and operational planning. Additionally, the role provides general support within the marketing team, collaborating on broader campaigns and initiatives to enhance student engagement and experience.The Social Media & Digital Engagement Coordinator reports to the Senior Manager – Marketing & Experience and works alongside a Social Media Officer and Graphic Designer.The position attracts a salary of between $67,985-$79,316 plus 11.5% superannuation, and this is a full-time role.The organisationThe Griffith University Gold Coast (GUGC) Student Guild is an independent not-for-profit student association servicing all students enrolled at the Griffith University Gold Coast campus. The Guild works closely with Griffith University and other key stakeholders to support the diverse community of approximately 18,000 students.The Guild has three divisions: Student Services, Business Services, and Commercial Services led by the General Manager reporting to a Board of elected student representatives. Under the direction of the Board, the Guild’s purpose is to support students and enhance student life. Our vision is to create a thriving community where all students feel supported and empowered for their future.This position sits within Business Services, which includes central administrative, marketing, and finance functions, and provides a range of support and services to all areas of the Guild.We are student life experts, and the student experience starts with us.Key accountabilitiesSocial Media & GrowthDevelop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to grow digital audiences, increase engagement, and enhance student experience.Manage and optimise content across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok, ensuring consistency and brand alignment.Explore and establish new digital channels, focusing on TikTok and emerging platforms.Content Creation & Community EngagementLead content creation, curation, and scheduling across all platforms.Develop compelling, high-quality visual and written content, including video editing for TikTok and Instagram Reels.Oversee community management, ensuring timely responses and engagement with students.Analytics & Performance OptimisationTrack, analyse, and report on social media KPIs, engagement metrics, and campaign performance.Utilize Google Analytics (GA4), Meta Business Suite, and other reporting tools to generate actionable insights.Provide recommendations for content and strategy adjustments based on data analysis.Website & Digital CommunicationMaintain and update the Guild website, ensuring accuracy and engaging content.Manage and execute regular EDMs to communicate key initiatives and events.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimise digital communication strategies.Marketing OperationsAssist with drafting, editing, and designing Guild department publications, working closely with designers and department stakeholders, including managing workflows, proofing, and approvals.Coordinate material distribution including posters, signage, flyers, and digital assets across campus.Manage upload and scheduling of media on internal digital screen systems.Assist in the development, distribution, and analysis of surveys for marketing and engagement evaluation.Marketing Team SupportAssist the Marketing Department with broader initiatives, including branding, promotions, and event support.Act as a key liaison between departments to ensure alignment across all digital channels.Support a culture of ambitious targets, innovation, and team collaboration.Key selection criteriaBachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or equivalent experience.Proven experience managing multiple social media accounts for brands or organisations.
