Water Resources Engineer Job Description

This position requires a passionate individual to join our national team and support various mine water management and hydrology-related projects. Your key responsibilities will include assisting in rainfall, flow, and flood assessments, including modeling, mapping, flood mitigation design, and risk assessments.
* Flood assessment and mitigation planning are essential skills for this role. You will also be responsible for supporting the development of existing Mine Water group capability in stormwater management and flood studies.
* You will work on a range of water management-related studies and investigations from pre-feasibility through to detailed design.
* Collaboration with teams across hydrogeology, geotechnical, civil, and environmental disciplines is crucial for success in this role.
* Preparation of technical reports and support proposals for various mining clients is also an essential part of the job.
About This Role
* A Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related field with a strong focus on hydrology and hydraulics is required for this position.
* At least 3 years' experience in water engineering, ideally with exposure to the mining or resources sector, is necessary for success in this role.
* Technical capability in water balance modeling, flood studies, and drainage design is essential.
* Aptitude or proficiency with hydraulic and flood modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, and MIKE) is also required.
* Strong technical writing skills with experience in proposal writing and technical reporting are necessary for this position.
