Overview:

The incumbent will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing a comprehensive Seaworthiness Regulatory Framework for our client. This framework will support Australia's sovereign interests and represent a contemporary approach to seaworthiness regulation. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a talented engineer with a strong foundation in engineering principles to transition into regulatory framework development and management. Responsibilities include drafting policies, regulations, procedures, guidance materials, and assisting the regulated community with compliance submissions, permits, and approvals.

Responsibilities

* Draft policies, regulations, and procedures for seaworthiness.
* Develop guidance materials and acceptable means of compliance.
* Assist the regulated community with compliance submissions, permits, and approvals.
* Demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving.
* Coordinate with the Senior Engineer to ensure alignment with standards and project goals.
* Collaborate with teams to develop engineering solutions.
* Review documentation for regulatory compliance.
* Participate in stakeholder meetings and provide engineering insights.
* Support the implementation of engineering policies and procedures.
* Contribute to technical reports and documentation.
* Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend corrective actions.
* Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Ideal Candidate

* Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or related field, with relevant experience.
* 3+ years in maritime engineering or regulatory field.
* Must hold an Australian Government Security clearance upon commencement.
* Knowledge of work health, safety, and environmental compliance.
* Familiarity with maritime conventions, laws, or Defence regulations.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Commitment to safety protocols.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
