Job Title: Maintenance Officer
The Maintenance Officer is a full-time position responsible for undertaking maintenance duties, including repairs, painting, minor construction and alteration works, gardening and grounds works, and general handyman duties.
Key Responsibilities:
* Gardening tasks such as planting, pruning, fertilising, watering, mulching, and weeding of garden areas are undertaken to ensure a well-maintained environment.
* Regular sweeping, rubbish removal, blower vacuuming, and/or hosing are performed to maintain a clean and safe work area.
* Minor repairs of equipment and furniture, painting, moving items of furniture and classroom supplies are carried out to meet the needs of the organisation.
* Daily security routines, including unlocking gates for entry and securing the site at the end of the day, are followed to ensure the safety of staff, students and visitors.
* Maintaining a safe environment for all individuals on-site is a critical aspect of this role.
* Assistance with the set-up of events and functions is provided to support theorganisation's activities.
Requirements:
* A trade qualification in a relevant field is required.
* At least 2 years' experience in a similar role is necessary to possess the required skills and knowledge.
* Familiarity with safe handling procedures for chemical usage, manual handling, storage of items, and general WHS is essential.
* A clear understanding of and personal commitment to the organisation's Mission and Values is expected.
* Demonstrated competence in programmed, reactive, and preventative maintenance is necessary to perform the role effectively.
