What You'll Be Doing
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is an expert practitioner who, through leadership, facilitates evidence-based practice. The CNC promotes a service that fosters clinical excellence, research and professional leadership. The CNC contributes to quality health care by collaborating with health care providers and consumer groups, developing clinical practice standards and evaluating their outcomes. The CNC is responsible for providing services which facilitate effective management of care in the given specialty.

* Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and at least 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, with at least 3 years full-time equivalent experience in the specialty field. In addition, the employee must have approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
* Describe a time when you provided clinical leadership that led to improved patient outcomes or enhanced clinical practice within an emergency department. What strategies did you use to influence and support your team?
* How do you ensure that communication barriers, cultural differences, or hierarchies do not hinder effective collaboration and understanding among members of the multidisciplinary team?
* How have you actively participated in risk management, work health and safety, and quality improvement initiatives within your workplace? Provide an instance where your contributions positively impacted patient care or workplace processes?
