ARC Justice is an independent, for-purpose, human rights organisation that incorporates the Loddon Campaspe Community Legal Centre, the Goulburn Valley Community Legal Centre and Housing Justice. We have offices in Bendigo and Shepparton and work with people in regional and rural Victoria who experience disadvantage relating to their housing, family, relationship, consumer, economic, social and civil rights.
Reporting to the Family Law Lead in Bendigo, the Paralegal will support the work of our Families Justice Team, as well as assist with administration for the legal service more generally. For example, if supporting the general civil team, the paralegal may undertake research and draft memoranda of advice. The Paralegal will provide detailed administrative support which may include drafting legal letters and/or court documents, undertaking research and drafting memorandum of advice, assisting clients with legal aid applications, managing the ATLAS legal aid system for the team, supporting the team with reporting and other data related activities, performing title searches, arranging client appointments, filing court documents and more.

Your passion and commitment to human rights and ability to engage people who have complex vulnerabilities including trauma with empathy and compassion will support you well in this role
You will also have:
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills to accurately assess and address client needs.
* Experience and practical knowledge of law and procedure gained from experience in a legal or professional environment.
* Oral and written communication skills, including legal drafting and strong interpersonal skills.
* Competent with online systems and communication as well as records/filing and office systems.
* Excellent time management skills.
This is a fixed term position to Friday 18 December 2026.
This role can be located at either our Bendigo or Shepparton Office.
