Get ready to dive into the Edinburgh Fringe this August with Berk's Nest We're on the lookout for passionate Street Team members to help spread the word about our fantastic lineup of shows.
This role is a perfect introduction to the comedy industry and a chance to immerse yourself in the unique and exhilarating experience of the Edinburgh Fringe.
As part of our Street Team, you will:
1. Strategically distribute Berk's Nest promotional materials across the city to drive ticket sales and maximise visibility across the festival.
2. Identify and connect with potential audiences to ensure Berk's Nest shows receive the attention they deserve.
3. Be the face of Berk's Nest on the ground, providing information and building excitement about our shows.
4. Collaborate closely with our team to gauge the impact of our promotional efforts.
5. Immerse yourself in Berk's Nest shows, becoming an expert on each act and how best to capture audiences.
ABOUT YOU
Essential:
1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for sales and promotion.
2. Comfortable approaching strangers and initiating conversation.
3. Reliability, flexibility, and a proactive attitude.
4. Willingness to collaborate with other street team members, share ideas, and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
5. Ability to embrace the dynamic and fast-paced nature of the Edinburgh Fringe, adapting your approach as needed to meet changing circumstances and maximise impact.
6. Ability to maintain a positive attitude and energy levels despite potential rejections.
7. Happy working outdoors in all sorts of weather and physically resilient.
8. Must be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the UK.
Desirable:
1. Genuine enthusiasm for and interest in comedy (prior knowledge of our acts is helpful but not necessary; you will be briefed on all shows on our roster and our aim is to get you to see as many of our shows as possible).
2. Experience in street marketing or event promotion.
3. Familiarity with the Edinburgh Fringe Festival or other arts festivals.
4. Familiarity with Edinburgh as a city.
Don't worry if you don't think you meet all of these; this is an entry-level role and we're far more interested in who you are as a person
You can expect shifts to be between 4-6 hours of flyering per day, plus breaks.
1. The remuneration for this role is £13.50 per hour.
2. You will be paid for any of the time we ask of you - including the pre-fringe briefing and subsequent Street Team meetings.
3. You will receive a Pleasance Pass, which gives you free entry to all Pleasance shows (unless they are sold out).
