About the Role
The Yard Supervisor provides hands‐on leadership across all yard operations at our Riverside Industrial Sands site. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role ensures daily activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with company and regulatory requirements. You will oversee machinery, support loading operations, maintain yard presentation, and help drive a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and coordinate daily yard operations.
* Carry out and supervise planned maintenance on machinery and site equipment.
* Operate machinery as required, including providing backup front‐end loader support for truck loading.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe yard environment.
* Receive, sort, record, and store incoming goods.
* Promote and uphold workplace health and safety standards for staff and contractors.
* Report incidents, hazards, near misses, and safety concerns promptly.
* Ensure all activities align with QHSE policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Essential Competencies and Characteristics
* Relevant machinery operation tickets
* Experience in yard, transport, or industrial operations (desirable)
* Strong awareness of workplace health and safety
* Ability to use Microsoft office
* Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
* Effective communication with internal teams and external drivers
Required Qualifications and Training
* White Card (Construction Induction)
* Relevant machinery operation tickets including front wheel loader, forklift and skid steer or ability to get immediately
* Basic Microsoft skills
