About the role
We are currently seeking a Project Engineer, to join the delivery team on the ground, as initial construction works and planning commences. As the Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and resolving the detail design and providing technical input to design and construction within a specific, or number of disciplines.
The Project Engineer is required to provide additional values to clients, through the use of innovation design and construct knowledge, processes, tools and techniques.
What you'll be doing
* Assist in maximising project procurement leverage through liaison with Project Managers and Contract Administration, adding expertise throughout the project to ensure highest quality outputs.
* Project engineer the detail design to improve value, quality and maximise return
* Provide onsite supervision and expertise to support the Site Manager, and work in conjunction with the Project Manager to prepare the project finalisation plan
* Identify key design and delivery issues and risks within your discipline(s) and prepare mitigation and resolution strategies
* Select, brief, appoint, program and manage design consultants
* Investigate design alternatives and cost saving options which achieve key project objectives.
* Provide subcontractor management and maintain relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to drive effectiveness, quality, cost and timeliness of materials and service arrangements
What we're looking for
* Construction/Engineering degree, or similar
* Demonstrated experience working within the Building Construction industry (5 years), with 2 relevant and work-related references
* SuperSafe (MBA)
* Work Safely in the Construction Industry (CPCCOHS1001A) - white card
* Computer literacy, including Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Intranet / Internet and Aconex skills.
* Demonstrated track record and experience working within the building construction industry, with broad expertise in a variety of design, subcontractor management and costs/estimating responsibilities
