About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Administrator to support complex, mission‐critical ICT systems across multiple security classifications on the AIR 6500 Program. This role is ideal for a Linux professional with a Defence background who enjoys working in large, secure, technically demanding environments.
What you'll be doing
* Owning the end-to-end lifecycle of Linux systems (primarily RHEL)
* Supporting physical and virtualised infrastructure across secure environments
* Using enterprise tools like Ansible, Red Hat Satellite, AD/IDM, vCenter, Cisco UCS
* Monitoring system health and performance (Grafana, Splunk, vendor tools)
* Managing backups, SANs, VDI (Horizon), and infrastructure monitoring
* Hardening systems and maintaining compliance with ISM and Defence standards
* Supporting and troubleshooting network infrastructure (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Palo Alto)
* Producing technical documentation that people actually use
* Contributing to BCP/DR, audits, and security activities
* Working in an Agile / Kanban delivery model that's pragmatic, not dogmatic
About You
* Background in Defence or highly regulated environments
* Red Hat certification (RHCSA / RHCE or equivalent)
* Solid experience with Ansible, Satellite
* Working Knowledge of and Containers and Kubernetes
* Exposure to DevOps / DevSecOps and CI/CD practices
* Strong troubleshooting skills across complex environments
* Experience with configuration and change management
* Comfortable working in Agile or Kanban teams
* Degree in ICT, Engineering, or similar
* VMware, storage, or related infrastructure certifications
* Hands‐on experience with ISM, DSPF, Essential Eight
* ITIL certification
