IT Platforms - Technical Specialist - Server (Oceania) – Temporary 3‐month contract – Rhodes, Australia – Hybrid work arrangement – $120,000 + super per annum – Travel required to Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Fiji.
Scope of Role
Reporting to the Director of Technology, the specialist will serve as the single point of contact for the assigned portfolio of IT Shared Services in the Oceania market, focusing on server and networking platforms. The role requires working across various projects, particularly in server‐room management, and leading innovation by identifying and driving new solutions and process improvements that deliver business value.
Responsibilities
* Design, configure and deploy resilient, scalable, and secure IT platforms that support business operations across on‐premises and cloud environments.
* Deliver integrated infrastructure solutions that enable reliable Windows Server environments for core applications and services.
* Build and optimise virtualized compute platforms for performance and resource efficiency.
* Integrate seamlessly with hybrid cloud environments across Azure, AWS and GCP.
* Implement centralized identity and access management via Active Directory and related services.
* Enable collaborative productivity through Office 365 tools including SharePoint, Teams and PowerApps.
* Provide high‐availability storage and backup solutions using HP SANs, tape libraries and enterprise backup platforms.
* Maintain efficient print services and SAP connectivity through managed printer queues and XLink adapters.
* Ensure network stability through basic troubleshooting and support across Cisco/Aruba infrastructure.
* Improve operational efficiency with custom PowerShell scripting for automation and maintenance.
* Manage server‐room environment controls, ensuring optimal temperature, humidity and airflow.
* Install and maintain hardware in line with project timelines and maintenance schedules.
* Coordinate advanced support, administer infrastructure operations and enable smooth project execution across allocated markets.
* Oversee ISMS & risk management, SCI KPIs including FFIT/LMS, ensuring timely resolution of all related items.
* Act as escalation point for L2/L3 support across multiple markets and coordinate with field services, engineering and regional teams.
* Engage stakeholders effectively and maintain professional relationships with regional partners.
* Travel as required throughout the specified regions.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience.
* Proven ability to design and deploy Windows Server, virtualization (Hyper‐V, VMware) and hybrid cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
* Strong knowledge of enterprise services including Active Directory, Office 365 and SCCM.
* Experience with backup and storage solutions.
* Familiarity with managing hardware lifecycles, printer services and basic network troubleshooting.
* Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and system maintenance.
* Skilled in coordinating L2/L3 support and acting as an escalation point.
* Effective stakeholder engagement with field services, engineering and regional teams.
* Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the Oceania region.
