**Assistant Committee Officer**
The Assistant Committee Officer is responsible for providing administrative and research support to the Clerk Assistant (Committees) and the Senior Clerk of Committees. Duties include preparing and publishing procedural and research documents and correspondence, arranging appointments and meetings, liaising with committee secretariats and maintaining files and documents relating to the work of committees.
The Assistant Committee Officer manages the administrative functions of the office of the Clerk Assistant (Committees), (SES), and liaises with a wide range of people, including senators and their staff, demonstrating client-focussed and well-developed communication skills. The occupant of the position is the point of contact for information relating to operations of Senate committees and is responsible for publishing a high volume of information online, relating to the work of committees. The occupant of this position must demonstrate high-level administrative skills and have exceptional attention to detail.
Experience using web-based authoring software and sound administrative experience is desirable.
**Executive Assistant to the Usher of the Black Rod**
The Executive Assistant to the Usher of the Black Rod liaises with a wide range of stakeholders including senators and their staff, employees and members of the public and works cooperatively with other executive/administrative assistants in the area, in support of all senior managers. During sitting periods, the Executive Assistant to the Usher of the Black Rod may be required to provide support services in the Senate Chamber.
