A little about the role
* Using the Family Finding model, engage with children, Carers and Families to initiate and support connections for children and young people in out of home care.
* Develop and continuously improve resources / documents / processes for the WA context to support the delivery and ongoing improvement of Family Finding practice.
* Lead the fostering and complex care teams in becoming familiar with the Family Finding model, driving collaborative working to support connections for children and young people in out of home care.
* Actively participate in Key Care Team meetings for children referred to the Family Finding service.
* Provide a culturally responsive service that demonstrates extensive knowledge and understanding and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, issues and perspectives including a knowledge and understanding of the historical and contemporary impacts of government policies, practices, programs on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
The base salary for this position is $88,090.08 - $94,788.72 per annum + super + vehicle& fuel card+ salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum.
This position is a full-time, ongoing opportunity.
About you
To be successful in this role, you'll come with :
* Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or other relevant recognisedQualifications.
* Prior demonstrated knowledge of First Nations Culture, communities, families, children and young people
* Knowledge of various Child Protection Legislation, Government initiatives and agendas across Western Australia.
* Tenacity, diligence and resilience - with the ability to initiate, implement and embed Family Finding practices with a creative approach.
