About the business

Opal Cove has a strong focus on creating a family friendly environment as well as looking after our corporate and local guests. You will be working in one of Coffs Harbour's premier resorts which offers an a la carte restaurant, brasserie section & large function centre. This is an opportunity not to be missed if you have flair, creativity, a strong team & work ethic and the ability & passion to produce quality food.

As an experienced Head Chef, you will support management in assisting to lead the kitchen team, helping to ensure that the highest quality plates in both design and taste are served to our guests. You will be responsible for the development and progression of the team through listening, coaching, and providing feedback. You will be a role model and a team player and you will share our passion for exceptional food and hospitality.

THE ROLE INCLUDES

- Leading by example, taking ownership and being able to navigate the operation with autonomy

* Organising and supervising stock rotation within the kitchen to ensure freshness, quality and minimal wastage
* Producing top quality meals and assisting all sections as required
* Working with the Food & Beverage GM and kitchen team to run an efficient kitchen financially and to deliver quality in line with our brand

* Supporting the team in the delivery of food safety and enforcing sanitation regulations and safety standards

* Understanding allergens and where they are found within our dishes
* Assisting with rostering, scheduling, development and recruiting of staff
* Keeping in touch with current food trends and having input with suggestions for your menu
* Ordering supplies to stock inventory appropriately as required
* Ensuring a safe environment for both you your team and our guests
