About the role
Tenmile is providing an exciting opportunity for a high performing and outcome focused individual to join our investment team.
Working closely within a tight-knit team, this position has a key role in managing incoming deal flow, screening and evaluating investments, executing deals as well as reporting and tracking investments and portfolio performance.
The Investment Analyst / Associate will be involved in all aspects of the investment process from screening to due diligence, securing Investment Committee approval and ongoing portfolio management.
The Analyst / Associate will conduct landscaping work within Tenmile's domains of interest across the broader Health Technology fields and develop a complete understanding of emerging companies and potential areas of investment.
Finally, they will be involved in Tenmile’s commitment to developing Australia’s health technology commercialisation ecosystem and range of community and ecosystem focused initiatives.
About you
* A university degree (medicine, science, business or combined) plus a minimum of 3 years sector experience, e.g. in finance/strategic or management consulting, healthtech industry, academia or other VC/funds management firm.
* Understanding of the venture capital/private equity industry including life science and healthcare business models and intellectual property considerations.
* Sound analytical, written and technical skills, including proficiency in financial modelling, valuation and return analysis.
* A highly-motivated self-starter with the ability to work both independently and within a team context
* A personal interest in venture capital and innovation
* Related work experience in management consulting, corporate advisory, industry or start-up companies an advantage, particularly with healthcare and technology based companies.
* Direct investment / analysis experience in healthcare, medtech, biotech or life sciences highly desirable
* For this position, a medical degree (MD) is strongly preferred
