These environments and cultures are central to our national identity, attracting visitors from across Australia and worldwide.
The Director of National Parks oversees six national parks, the Australian National Botanic Gardens, 60 Australian Marine Parks, and the Heard Island and McDonald Islands Marine Reserve, established under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
Parks Australia, a division of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, supports the Director.
Our mission is to showcase these natural and cultural treasures, inspire community engagement, and promote their care and preservation.The CFO and Corporate Services branch provides essential corporate functions including Assurance and Governance, Communication, Marketing and Tourism, Procurement, and Property, Security, and IT.The Communication, Marketing and Tourism Section collaborates across all divisions of Parks Australia, with Traditional Owners, and other stakeholders.
It manages activities such as Media and Communications, Marketing, E-Commerce, Tourism Policy, and Destination Planning.The jobContribute to the development and implementation of Parks Australia's tourism and visitor experience policies, projects, and strategies.Support the development of strategic tourism plans.Assist in the development and implementation of tourism activity policies and processes.Support commercial tourism activities, including authorisations.Prepare visitor insights reports using survey data, ticketing information, and other sources.Draft documentation such as briefs, correspondence, reports, minutes, and agendas.Collaborate with park-based visitor service and operations staff, as well as internal and external stakeholders.What you'll gain from the experienceYou will be part of a motivated team dedicated to conserving, promoting, and enhancing the enjoyment of Commonwealth-managed national parks.
