**Job description**:
DFP Recruitment are proudly working with our Federal Government client within their Mental health and Wellbeing Services area. The position can be based in any capital city.
The Assistant Director of Quality and Safety will report to the Director of Quality and Safety. They will provide support to the team in the areas of quality and safety, continuous improvement, program and procedure development and accreditation processes.
**Responsibilities will include**:
- Manage the priorities to support high quality mental health service delivery
- Provide Secretariat support
- Support the delivery of specific information / training / education in relation to QI
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally
- In conjunction with the Director, manage strategic planning for longer term initiatives
- Manage documentation to track, monitor and report on projects
- Provide supervision, mentoring and coaching for direct reports
**To be considered you must have the following**:
- Strong writing skills, be a critical thinker and organised
- A background in healthcare along with strong written and verbal communication skills are essential (Project Management is highly desirable)
- Qualifications in Psychology, Social Sciences or a related field
- Policy development experience
- Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of health or social services
- Team Leadership
- IT proficient
- Strong stakeholder engagement
- Understanding of mental health services as well as relevant experience within APS and ADF is desirable.
**If successful, you will receive the following**:
- An attractive hourly rate of between $70 and $80 + super
- Full time hours, 37.5 per week
