Weare looking for an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) for our 50-bed skilled nursing facility located in Mills River, North Carolina. We believe team members are our greatest resource and are looking for people who share our commitment to provide quality care for seniors and their families.As the Director of Nursing (DON) at The Lodge at Mills River you will:Make a difference every dayBe part of a uniquely supportive communityInfuse collaboration, respect, and a passion for helping others by leading the center's nursing team.Deliver high-quality care with a personal touch and encourage our residents to enjoy life to the fullest.Hold overall accountability for providing leadership, direction, and administration of day-to-day operations associated with direct patient care.Responsibilities of the Director of Nursing (DON):Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing personnel including nurses, medication aides, certified nursing assistants, and nursing aides in trainingGuide staffing proceduresSet objectives and long-term goals for the nursing departmentOrganize and coordinate admission, nursing, and patient care proceduresDevelop and enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high-quality standardsControl budgets and monitor expenditures within the department, including supplies and payrollResolve issues and deficiencies when needed by completing performance improvement plansManage record-keeping proceduresCollaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operationsReport directly to the AdministratorQualifications of the Director of Nursing (DON):Maintains a current/unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North CarolinaA passion for working with seniors.1+ years of nursing management in the long-term care industry with the experience to include hiring, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and daily operations supervision.Experience tracking, trending, and analyzing infection control and other clinical data.Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel.Great communication and people skills, including keeping a good rapport with surrounding hospitals and organizations.Outstanding organizational and stress management skills.Aptitude in problem-solving.Willingness to keep abreast of changing standards in nursing administration with strong knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare.The Lodge at Mills River is a part of SanStone Health & Rehabilitation which offers employment opportunities in North Carolina that are filled with purpose and is an equal opportunity employer.
