Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to take on the role of Head of School Indigenous Australian Studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing academic and cultural leadership across the school, while fostering solid relationships with First Nations communities.
Main Responsibilities
To provide strategic direction and guidance to academic staff and students, promoting excellence in teaching, learning, and research.
To develop and implement creative programs and initiatives that enhance the student experience and promote social justice.
To build partnerships with local communities and organizations, ensuring that our research and teaching is relevant and impactful.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leadership and management in higher education, with expertise in Indigenous Australian studies. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
You will hold a doctorate in a relevant discipline or possess equivalent professional standing and reputation. Demonstrated success in curriculum design, delivery of new programs, and strategies to improve student retention and graduate outcomes is required.
Experience in strengthening research productivity and quality, including securing external funding and collaborative projects, is also essential. You are an experienced leader of academic and skilled staff with strong skills in strategic planning, financial management, and governance.
