About the Role
Reporting to the Venue Catering Manager, the Event Manager (Retail Hospitality) is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of retail hospitality operations across events at Adelaide Showground.
This is a hands-on role, overseeing retail event planning, stock and logistics, labour forecasting, financial performance, compliance, and event-day execution to ensure all outlets are fully prepared and operating to a high standard.
Key responsibilities include:
* Completing retail administration, reporting and maintaining accurate documentation and systems.
* Developing retail operational plans including outlet mix, operating hours, staffing and logistics.
* Driving innovation, continuous improvement and new product/menu initiatives.
* Ensuring compliance with Food Safety, Allergen Management, RSA, WHS and company policies.
* Ensuring retail outlets are maintained to high standards of cleanliness, presentation and compliance.
* Forecasting, ordering and managing retail stock in line with event schedules and budgets.
* Leading end-to-end retail operations across all events (planning, delivery, pack-down and reviews).
* Leading, coaching and supporting retail supervisors and event teams.
* Managing labour forecasting, rostering and cost control in collaboration with the Venue Catering Manager.
* Managing stock logistics including deliveries, storage, stock rotation, distribution and stocktakes.
* Maintaining strong supplier relationships and minimising wastage.
* Overseing Point of Sales (POS) setup, troubleshooting and event-day functionality.
About You
You're an experienced retail and event operations leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You are organised, commercially minded, and confident leading large casual teams while balancing customer experience, compliance, and financial performance. You enjoy being visible on the floor during events and are comfortable making quick operational decisions under pressure.
Skills & Experience include:
* Proven experience in retail hospitality operations within a stadium, major venue or event environment.
* Strong event management capability across planning, delivery and post-event reporting.
* Demonstrated leadership experience managing and motivating large casual teams.
* Sound financial acumen including labour forecasting, budgeting and cost control.
* Strong stock control and logistics management experience.
* Practical experience working with POS systems and troubleshooting on event days.
* Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
* Current RSA and Food Safety Supervisor certification (essential).
* Forklift licence (LF) desirable.
