Overview
Assistant in Nursing – Haemodialysis Unit, Tamworth Hospital. Permanent Part Time role. Hours per week: 12. Remuneration: $26.14 – $28.69 Per Hour + Superannuation + Salary Packaging. Applications Close: Monday, 15th September 2025.
Where You'll Be Working
Tamworth Hospital is the principal referral hospital for the northern sector of Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD), servicing a population of over 180,000. It provides a wide range of services and is a teaching facility affiliated with the University of Newcastle. You will have opportunities to work with clinicians involved in research, education and innovation in a regional setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist RNs and ENs with patient care during haemodialysis treatments.
- Help establish and maintain the dialysis treatment area and uphold cleanliness and infection-control standards.
- Assist with basic clinical tasks such as observations, weighing patients, and recording haemodialysis machine observations.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients undergoing dialysis.
- Participate in an education program with the Nurse Educator and work with ENs, RNs and the Nurse Unit Manager for ongoing support and learning.

Requirements
- Certificate III in Assistant in Nursing or currently enrolled in an undergraduate Registered Nursing degree (completion of first year and first semester/trimester of second year), or enrolled in a TAFE NSW Diploma of Nursing with required practicums.
