The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Senior Director (Assurance and Advisory Services) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
* Contribute to strategic planning, reviews, and risk/compliance activities
* Ensure audits comply with standards, ethics, legislation, and frameworks
* Maintain independence, reporting to Audit and Risk Committee and Executive Director
* Lead and review the three-year Strategic and Annual Internal Audit Plans
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
* Tertiary qualification in accounting, auditing, commerce, business, or a related field
* Membership (or eligibility for membership) with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants ANZ, or equivalent professional body
* Demonstrated experience in leading internal audit functions within large, complex organisations, preferably in the public or health sector
* Detailed knowledge of internal audit standards, ethical codes, risk management frameworks, and relevant legislation including the Financial Accountability Act 2009 (Qld)
* High-level skills in conducting complex audits, preparing quality audit reports, and presenting to executive and board-level committees
* Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
* Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

* Base salary ranging from $174 339 - $188 056 per annum
