Machine Operator (Skidsteer / Excavator)
MACHINE OPERATOR (SKID-STEER / EXCAVATOR)
We are a well established commercial building company specialising in the construction of fast food restaurants, child care facilities, office / warehouses, gymnasiums and service station / convenience stores. We require an experienced Skid-steer / Excavator operator on a full-time basis with experience in the construction industry.
Responsibilities
* Knowledge and skills to undertake general labouring and earthworks duties using a Skid-steer, Excavator and other plant and equipment.
* Assist in taking levels, earthworks set-out, general assistance.
* Work from site plans, markers and verbal instructions to complete excavation works.
* Operate hydraulic and manual controls to excavate, level, spread earth, rock and other materials.
* Safely manoeuvre the equipment on various terrains and in different site conditions.
* Conduct daily pre-start checks to ensure machinery is in safe working order.
* Perform minor adjustments, cleaning, lubrication and refuelling of the plant.
* Identify and report any faults or defects in the equipment.
* Experience in fitting and removing attachments such as buckets, augers and rock-breaking hammers.
* Safely load materials onto dump trucks.
* Competent in using a variety of tools and equipment.
* Confidently undertake final trim.
* Capable of following instructions.
* Clean plant and equipment and worksite after operation.
* Use hand and audible signals to communicate with others on the site.
* Ensure HSW practices are adhered.
Qualifications and Requirements
* White card.
* Must have a current South Australian Driver's Licence and a Truck Licence (HR).
* Licence to operate Skid-steer and Excavator.
* Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years operating experience of Skid-steer / Excavator required.
* Capable of following instructions and working independently and also part of a team.
* Pro-active and excellent time management skills - complete tasks in a timely and safe manner.
* Eager and willing to learn and grow.
* Reliable, punctual, positive attitude and excellent work ethics.
* Be able to read and interpret plans.
* Australian work rights are required for this position.
* Training will be provided for the successful applicant. Wage is negotiable and dependent on proven level of skills and experience.
