We currently have an excellent opportunity within our growing accounting team which will allow you to expand your knowledge and further your career while working in a strong and supportive environment.
The role oversees the company's financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll and daily financial entries and reconciliations. The successful applicant will be integrally involved in the daily accounting of the company as well as monthly financial reporting, BAS lodgements and preparation of company financials.
The Successful Applicant Will Have
* A minimum of 4 years' experience in public practice as an accountant.
* Experience working for a medium sized company as an accountant is an advantage
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA, CA or CIMA qualified.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis and reporting standards.
* Sound knowledge of the Australian Income Tax System, including GST, CGT, SG, FBT & Division 7A.
* Experience in preparing financial statements with supporting workpapers together with income tax returns for company & trust structures.
* Strong knowledge of MYOB, Xero and other major accounting software packages.
* Experience liaising with the ATO and other regulatory bodies.
* Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills
* Strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
* A positive can-do attitude, be proactive, enthusiastic with a strong work ethic.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
* Be able to work autonomously and as part of a team
Roles & Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
* Overseeing month-end and year-end reporting requirements
* Overseeing accounts payable functions
* Assisting directors with tax advisory, structuring advice, and tax planning
* Evaluation of Div7A implications in company accounts
* Perform Balance Sheet, P&L and General Ledger Reconciliations, month end and year-end closing activities, and posting correcting journals.
* Preparing the monthly and quarterly tax compliance documents, e.g. BAS CAS and working with taxation advisers
* Preparing FBT returns and group company tax returns.
* Maintain documentation and processes for auditing and reporting and work with auditors for annual review.
* Weekly and monthly Cash flow analysis and forecast.
* Maintain good relationships with all stakeholders internally.
* Strong problem-solving skills with issues in daily work.
