Funeral Director's Assistant/After Hours Transfer Officer
Just Cremations is a recognised industry leader dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our families and the funeral profession. We have been established for over 30 years with branches based in Joondalup, Redcliffe, Mandurah, Rockingham, Malaga, Kalamunda and Bunbury.
We are currently seeking a Casual Funeral Director's Assistant/After Hours Transfer Officer, which involves the collection and transfer of deceased persons into Just Cremations care. This is a casual position and therefore there is no guarantee as to the number of hours that would be offered. The ideal candidate will have the ability to be flexible in their approach to the hours worked.
The hours vary from week to week, so you must be able to adapt to an irregular schedule with no set structure of days or hours.
The Funeral Director's Assistant aspect of this position requires a compassionate yet professional approach at all times, providing customer facing service to our families. If you are community minded, live by the values of over-service and familyness, have strong organisational skills, good attention to detail and are a team player, then this may be the job for you. No two days are the same and you need to be able to think on your feet to problem-solve.
All positions that involve visiting a nursing home or hospital must be triple vaccinated against Covid-19 and have an annual flu jab. While mandates have ended, some institutions still require these vaccinations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Provide a customer facing service to families including setting up services, directing families, providing refreshments, and operating media and related equipment.
Set up graveside services with chairs, gazebo, and lectern.
Wash, prepare, and drive company vehicles with a trailer as required.
Work as a team to deliver first-class customer service that goes above and beyond to meet families' needs.
Act as an in-house celebrant at services when required.
Be available on Saturdays and Sundays to carry out transfers.
Maintain triple vaccination against Covid-19 and flu jab.
Key Skills and Competencies
Five (5) years' experience in a customer-service facing role.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Must be physically fit, healthy and strong to perform heavier manual work.
First-class driving skills with a clean manual driving licence.
Outstanding planning and organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Good technical and computer literacy.
Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Highly organised with good attention to detail.
Live within a 20-minute radius of our Bunbury branch.
Strong customer focus and service orientation.
No prior experience is required as ongoing training and development will be provided.
