Financial Risk Management Specialist
About the Role
We are expanding our Financial Services Risk and Regulation team and seeking a Manager to collaborate with clients in solving complex financial issues. Our Treasury Advisory team is a national team that provides expert advice on governance, control, derivative financial management, effective hedge strategies, treasury set-up, and implementation of treasury technology.
This role involves helping clients solve complex problems by utilizing skills in:
- Financial risk management with a background in sourcing and delivering various projects in these areas and managing teams
- Financial instrument accounting standards and associated valuations/modelling
- Hedge accounting solutions including the associated valuations and modelling i.e. hedge effectiveness, hedge ineffectiveness
- Familiarity with derivative products and associated valuations
- Ideally familiar with financial risk systems i.e. Reval, GTreasury, Integrity, Quantum
- Deep understanding of financial risk i.e. FX, interest rates, commodities and liquidity, and the various derivative products
In this role, your impact will be seen by leading teams in providing various Financial Instrument accounting and financial risk management services to clients, coaching and mentoring colleagues, building internal relationships, playing a key role in building PwC's profile in the financial risk market place, and working collaboratively with other parts of PwC to resolve client issues, identify opportunities and deliver solutions
Purpose of the Job
The purpose of this role is to provide expert advice and guidance to clients on financial risk management, financial instrument accounting, and hedge accounting. This includes identifying and mitigating financial risks, developing and implementing effective financial risk management strategies, and providing technical expertise on financial instrument accounting standards and derivatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead teams in providing financial risk management and financial instrument accounting services to clients
- Develop and implement effective financial risk management strategies for clients
- Provide technical expertise on financial instrument accounting standards and derivatives to clients
- Collaborate with other parts of PwC to resolve client issues, identify opportunities and deliver solutions
- Coach and mentor colleagues to develop their skills and knowledge in financial risk management and financial instrument accounting
