The Physics Department is a research-focused unit committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
As a Research Associate, you will conduct cutting-edge research on suspended cavities and cryogenic optics for gravitational wave detectors. You will supervise students and contribute to innovative experiments to enhance detector sensitivity. You will develop expertise in experimental instrumentation with guidance and growing autonomy.
About the Ideal Candidate
* You must hold a PhD in experimental physics or engineering.
* You should have experience in control systems and optics.
* You should have some experience in supervising students.
* You should demonstrate a commitment to participating in high-quality research evidenced by peer-reviewed journal articles published in respected scholarly journals.
* You should possess well-developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
