Job Description
Opportunity for a kitchen assistant to join our team at the Carlton North Early Learning Centre. In our newly renovated kitchen, you'll play a vital role in preparing and cooking delicious and nutritious meals that support the health and development of our young learners.

Gowrie Victoria is a well-regarded not-for-profit organisation that provides long day care and kindergarten at six sites across Melbourne.
The Role
Working with our Kitchen Supervisor, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including planning the menu and meal preparation while ensuring dietary requirements are met and allergies are managed. When the Kitchen Supervisor is not rostered, you’ll be required to work autonomously and will be responsible for all kitchen duties.
This is a rewarding role where you’ll help prepare nutritious meals for children’s benefit. You’ll work with great people within a supportive environment, whilst working for a values-based not-for-profit that puts its people first.
About You
You will have previous cooking experience and demonstrate your ability to work both within a team and autonomously. Ideally, you also have a nationally recognized qualification in cooking (desirable) or a current Food Handling Certificate with knowledge of food safety and storage.
