Our Role
As a Design Manager at Rohrig, you'll be responsible for guiding the design and development of intricate construction projects. This full-time role, located in our
Bowen Hills
office (soon to be Newstead), this role will work closely with our Design and Construction teams to create innovative solutions that go beyond client expectations.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
* Oversee and guide the entire design process, ensuring timely, on-budget delivery while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
* Work closely with multidisciplinary teams such as architects, engineers, and construction professionals to ensure smooth integration of design components.
* Assess and address design risks early on, implementing preventive measures to guarantee successful project outcomes.
* Offer technical expertise and leadership to the design team, fostering skill development and mentoring.
* Engage with clients to grasp their requirements and convert them into strategic design solutions.
* Ensure adherence to all applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
* Play an active role in enhancing and refining our design practices and methodologies.
The Requirements:
* Working Rights in Australia
* Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or related field
* Excellent written and verbal communication, organization and problem-solving skills
* Technical awareness of construction techniques; knowledge of fit outs and construction components.
* Knowledge of the hospitality and education industry and ability to develop strong relationships with a large range of people and clients
* Previous experience as a Senior Design Manager
* Understanding of the broad range of varying documentation
* A good work ethic, reliable and able to excel in a team environment
* Proficiency in design software tools and Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook
