About the Role

**As Head of Department - Student Engagement, you will**:

- Supporting students through engagement in the classroom and the playground.
- Coordinating and developing playground leadership and social skills program with students.
- Facilitating and supporting whole school and tiered intervention for Tier 2 & 3 students.
- Supporting and building teacher capacity in trauma informed practices, Essential Skills for Classroom Management, Tier 2 & 3 strategies and performing functional behaviour assessments.
- Facilitating and engaging all stakeholders in student case management meetings to develop Individual Behaviour Support Plans, crisis management plans and SAGS.
- Working closely with a student behaviour and engagement team that includes; the Principal, Deputy Principals, Head of Inclusive Practice, Guidance Officer, Social Worker and/or Head of Department-Curriculum.

- Attach a maximum 2 page written response the following selection criteria: - Ability to develop proactive and sustainable support strategies with students with complex needs, resulting in their increased engagement with schooling. Ability to work with school staff members to enhance their skills in working with students with complex needs. Ability to work with people inside and outside the school to deliver increased engagement and outcomes for students.
