Role Overview
The Senior System Engineer will support a secure cloud-first Windows environment.
This is a 6-month contract role with the option to extend for an additional 6 months.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage Windows 11 endpoints using Intune, including compliance, configuration profiles and Autopilot.
* Lead migration from Ivanti Application Control to Windows Defender Application Control, including policy design, testing and deployment.
* Package and deploy applications using Win32 and MSIX.
* Manage Windows Update for Business, including feature updates and patch compliance.
* Support Microsoft Teams certified devices through Intune.
* Maintain SOE standards including BitLocker, ASR, Defender and WDAC.
* Use PowerShell and Microsoft Graph for automation.
* Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures.
* Provide Level 1 desktop support, including troubleshooting, onboarding and device setup.
* Manage smartphones using Intune MAM and MDM.
* Support development of BYOD smartphone policy foundations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum three years experience in a similar role.
* Hands-on experience with Intune for endpoint management and compliance.
* Experience designing and deploying WDAC policies.
* Win32 and MSIX packaging experience.
* Knowledge of Windows Update for Business and patching.
* Experience managing Teams certified devices in Intune.
* PowerShell scripting for automation.
* Experience with MAM and MDM smartphone management.
* Ability to provide Level 1 support and onboarding.
* Autopilot and modern SOE design.
* ITIL knowledge.
* Microsoft certifications such as MD-102 or MS-102.
* Additional certifications such as AZ-104 or SC-200.
* Experience in infrastructure or Linux or Windows administration.
* ServiceNow experience.
* MAC SOE experience.
Working Arrangements
* Full-time role based in Canberra.
* Standard hours are 7.5 hours per day between 8 am and 6 pm, with flexibility for after-hours patching or deployments.
Salary Range: A$135,000.00 – A$150,000.00
