The Opportunity
We are seeking a Manager to join our Climate Change and Sustainability Services team. The EY Climate Change and Sustainability Services team is the biggest sustainability consulting team in Oceania. Our multidisciplinary teams help companies understand the risks and opportunities arising from climate change and sustainability issues, advising a large proportion of the ASX 200 to help them drive performance beyond their bottom line. Our team works across the full spectrum of sustainability and climate change issues, including environmental, social and governance ("ESG") strategy, outcomes measurement, climate risk and decarbonisation, human rights and modern slavery through advisory and assurance engagements.
This role is based in Australia and can be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team across a range of industries, assisting organisations on how they manage and report on broad sustainability and climate related risks and impacts.
* Deliver assurance of non-financial reporting, including sustainability metrics, emissions and energy reporting across a range of industry sectors.
* Contribute to strategy, solutions, methodologies, analytical frameworks and tools to help clients succeed and navigate complex regulatory environments and manage stakeholder expectations.
* Assist clients to develop and implement sustainability strategies, develop targets and implement plans to enhance sustainability value for a broad range of sustainability topics, including diversity, waste, modern slavery and environmental impacts.
* Assist in climate scenario analysis including understanding climate risks and opportunities, to formulate short- and long-term management objectives.
What We Look For
* Professional services/consulting experience.
* Tertiary qualification, such as in engineering, maths or physics.
* Experience in climate change services (either in professional services, industry or government).
* Experience in GHG accounting.
* Demonstrable experience in and passion for reporting and/or assurance of greenhouse gas emissions.
* Working knowledge of the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act, and associated legislation (Safeguard Mechanism, Renewable Energy Target).
* Awareness of the Australian Accounting Standard Board S2 standard requirements.
* Experience in financial or non‑financial audit (either in professional services, industry or government).
* Experience leading teams and coaching and developing team members.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice as well as a good understanding of the climate‑related issues.
* Climate and nature disclosure experience, including knowledge of the TCFD and TNFD frameworks.
* Knowledge of, and experience in decarbonisation approaches, climate risk and climate strategy.
* Agility to learn and adapt on the job, ask the right questions and strive for the best solutions for clients.
