The school offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in the Accounting, Economics & Finance disciplines as well as research-based doctoral degrees.
About the role
The School of Law & Business seeks to appoint a legal academic on our Sydney campus during an exciting time of growth. The role involves creating, coordinating, and delivering law courses informed by the Catholic intellectual tradition, with a focus on ethical leadership and community. You will contribute to inspiring, student-centred teaching, work independently to meet deadlines, and engage with School events and external stakeholders while collaborating in a collegial team.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver tutorials, practical classes, workshops, demonstrations, clinical and studio sessions, and student field excursions.
Prepare and deliver lectures and seminars; develop and coordinate subject and course materials, including curriculum design and accreditation activities for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Supervise honours and postgraduate students in coursework and research projects; conduct research and engage in professional activities.
Manage marking, assessment, student consultations, and related administrative tasks; participate in departmental meetings and committees.
Contribute to special projects and provide leadership in curriculum implementation and review under the supervision of the Program Coordinator.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures, and exercise delegated authority in resource commitments.
Qualifications, skills & experience
PhD or equivalent qualification, preferably with relevant experience in the legal profession.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including supporting international students.
Proven teaching experience and expertise in one or more areas including Legal Research & Writing, Trusts, Remedies, Administrative Law, Asia-Pacific Law, International Business Law, Environmental Law and/or Cultural Heritage Law. Ability to teach into the Priestly-11 is essential.
Ability to deliver high-quality learning and teaching across multiple modes, including online, and develop curriculum resources and assessment tasks.
Demonstrated capability to integrate technology into teaching and learning, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Commitment to academic and professional engagement within the school and broader profession.
