KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
As a key member of our culinary team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Ordering: Efficiently manage the procurement of fresh and high-quality ingredients, ensuring a well-stocked kitchen at all times.
Rostering: Collaborate with the venue managers to create effective staff schedules that meet business needs while considering employee preferences and availability, making sure employees do not work overtime.
Stock Taking: Conduct regular inventory assessments to monitor stock levels, minimize wastage, and optimize ordering processes.
Prepping: Skillfully prepare and present dishes according to our established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every plate.
Maintaining Cleanliness: Uphold a pristine and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Ensuring High Food Standards: Guarantee the quality and presentation of dishes meet or exceed our guests' expectations, maintaining the reputation of our establishment.
Writing Weekly Specials: Collaborate with outlet chefs to create enticing weekly specials that showcase creativity and innovation in the kitchen.
Budget Management: Work diligently to keep labour and food costs within established budget parameters, contributing to the financial success of the restaurant.
Collaboration: Foster a positive working relationship with the venue general manager and staff, ensuring seamless communication and teamwork within the culinary department.
Platforms: Experience in Employment Hero, Microsoft Office, Cooking the Books (in-house ordering system)
Understanding data and sales trends: Review weekly sales to determine which products need reinventing or removing from menus.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Chef in a similar casual dining setting.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Creative flair and passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences.

The position will be measured via weekly costing of Rosters to forecasted sales.
Overall effectiveness in profitability maintenance, monthly stocktakes, and achieving COS budget.
Responsible for the building of a team, that is well-trained and engaged.
Development and maintenance of a continuous improvement process or processes in food offerings and service delivery to our customers.
