The Role We are seeking a commercially astute and strategic Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to lead a high-performing function within a large, complex organisation. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving enterprise-wide financial performance, delivering best-in-class planning, forecasting, and insights, and leading a significant transformation agenda.You will play a critical role in shaping business strategy, embedding a "one business" mindset, and enabling data-driven decision‐making across the organisation.Leading a team spanning FP&A, business insights, and performance analytics, you will partner closely with senior executives to optimise performance, identify opportunities, and drive sustainable growth.Lead enterprise-wide business performance and transformation initiativesDrive a culture of continuous improvement, efficiency, and innovationOversee complex, multi-stream programs ensuring alignment, delivery, and measurable outcomesIdentify and implement initiatives to enhance operational and financial performanceOwn the end-to-end budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processesDeliver high-quality, timely, and insightful reporting to executive leadership and BoardEmbed a "no surprises" approach to financial performance and forecasting accuracyLeverage data, analytics, and automation to elevate decision-making capabilityEnsure alignment across FP&A, Corporate Finance, and Strategy functionsAct as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across the businessTranslate complex financial information into clear, actionable insightsInfluence strategic decisions through strong commercial acumen and analytical rigourBuild strong relationships across operational and corporate functionsLead the development of best-in-class data and insights capabilitiesEnsure stakeholders have access to meaningful, real‐time performance metricsDrive proactive planning and performance management disciplinesChampion change management and continuous improvement frameworksBuild and develop high-performing teams with strong commercial capabilityCoach leaders and teams to uplift financial acumen across the organisationThe Candidate You are a senior finance leader with a proven track record in FP&A within large, complex environments. You bring a blend of strategic thinking, commercial insight, and transformation experience.You will demonstrate:Extensive experience leading FP&A functions and enterprise planning processesProven ability to lead large-scale transformation or business improvement programsStrong financial modelling and analytical capabilityExperience operating in complex, matrixed organisationsExceptional stakeholder management and influencing skillsA proactive, outcomes-driven mindset with the ability to challenge the status quoStrong leadership capability with experience building and mentoring high-performing teamsDegree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a related disciplineCA/CPA (or equivalent) highly regardedExperience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP or similar) and advanced analytics toolsThe Organisation Our client is an iconic infrastructure business operates and maintains the essential networks that enable the delivery of critical services around Australia.
