Community Transport Services Tasmania – Devonport TAS

As a not‑for‑profit charitable organisation, CTST provides transport, home maintenance, social support, disability services and domestic assistance to older Tasmanians and individuals with health or mobility limitations. Operating statewide, we are supported by a dedicated workforce of 500 staff and volunteers, a fleet of over 100 vehicles and a clear mission: to ensure every Tasmanian can access high‑quality, reliable support to live well within their community.

About the Role

CTST is seeking a customer‑focused and detail‑oriented Intake & Assessment Officer to join our Quality, Safety & Risk team. In this pivotal role, you'll conduct holistic assessments for eligible community members to support independent living, transport access and community connection.

Reporting to the Intake & Assessment Manager, you'll work closely with our Home Services and Passenger Services teams to manage enquiries and referrals and assess individual service delivery needs with professionalism and care. You'll be the first point of contact for our service users, helping them navigate available supports in accordance with their referrals and ensuring their experience with CTST is positive and empowering.

Salary: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry – SACS Level 2

Hours: Part‑time 60.4 per fortnight – pattern to be discussed with the successful candidate

About You

Excellent communication skills to engage confidently with service users, internal stakeholders and external agencies

A calm, professional approach with the ability to manage workload and adapt to changing priorities

A collaborative mindset with a commitment to working effectively within and across teams

Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service and support across diverse stakeholder groups

Experience in conducting assessments, completing registrations and reviews, and maintaining accurate CRM records

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, web‑based systems and databases

Sound understanding of Tasmania's geography to support service coordination

Knowledge of continuous improvement, client safety and risk management principles

Experience in a similar role within the transport, community services or not‑for‑profit sector

All CTST employees must:

Hold a current driver's licence

Possess or be willing to obtain a Working with Vulnerable Persons Card

Be willing to undergo a National Police Check

Be an Australian Resident or hold a valid Australian working visa

Be willing to travel intrastate as required
