Position Overview
The Fleet Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the coordination, scheduling, documentation, and communication of all fleet activities. The role ensures that items of equipment in the Company fleet, both revenue generating and non-revenue generating are maintained at the highest standards, compliant with relevant safety regulations, and consistently available for operational use.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement maintenance strategies and management to improve asset reliability, reduce downtime and efficient resource use.
Manage maintenance activities across sites, ensuring completion of planned, predictive and reactive tasks.
Manage maintenance records and documentation, keeping them up to date for audits and regulatory compliance. Develop, manage and optimise operating and reporting processes for accurate tracking and reporting of all Company fleet.
Act as the main contact for escalation of maintenance issues, coordinating with clients, vendors and cross-functional teams to align maintenance activities with organisational goals.
Oversee systems relating to inventory of spare parts, manage maintenance budgets, and collaborate with finance on cost tracking and savings initiatives.
Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards. Conduct safety audits and lead training for maintenance staff.
Identify and implement process improvements, collaborating on organisational change initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and support company objectives.
Skills and Experience
Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience in maintenance planning, ideally in construction, manufacturing or industrial setting.
Trade qualifications and/or relevant certifications to maintenance planning
Proficient in maintenance and asset management software such as CMMS, and MS Office Suite,
Strong budgeting, forecasting, and reporting skills, with experience working closely with finance teams
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Experience training and mentoring maintenance staff.
In depth knowledge of WHS regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
