Overview of the Team
The Regulatory Operations Group (ROG) is responsible for achieving safer and healthier workplaces within its jurisdiction. As a national regulator, it promotes continuous improvements in work health, safety, and rehabilitation practices, and monitors compliance with the law. The Group employs a risk-based approach, planning and implementing programs to address issues or entities that pose significant risks to worker health and safety. Services are delivered across Australia through regional offices in QLD, NSW, VIC, TAS, SA, NT, WA, and ACT.
Overview of the Role
Working closely with the Regional Director, colleagues, and stakeholders, the Assistant Director will coordinate and ensure the successful completion of a regulatory workload through a small team.
This includes:
* Participating as a member of the leadership team to plan, allocate, and manage regional workload delivery.
* Providing guidance and support to team members on complex tasks and organizational goals.
* Building and maintaining relationships with internal teams, peers, and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory
* Must obtain a Diploma of Government (Workplace Inspection) within 18 months of engagement.
Desirable
* Certificate IV in WHS, WHS Lead Auditor, Certificate IV in Government (Investigation), or similar qualifications.
Eligibility and Conditions
* Australian citizenship.
* Character clearance (Australian Criminal History Check).
* Employee Health Declaration.
* Six-month probation period.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
Specific Conditions include:
* Hold and maintain a motor vehicle driver license.
* Participate in an after-hours on-call roster as needed.
* Travel intra- and interstate, including overnight stays.
* Obtain a Diploma of Government (Workplace Inspection) within 18 months.
