Workshop Maintenance Technician Role

About the Position
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a workshop environment, ensuring safety and maintenance of equipment. You will plan and perform routine maintenance on vehicles, trailers, vessels, and plant equipment, respond to breakdowns in the field, and conduct inductions for staff and students.
Main Responsibilities
* Assist with managing workshop operations and maintaining tidiness and compliance.
* Plan servicing and perform routine maintenance on vehicles, trailers, vessels, and equipment.
* Conduct repairs on trailers, outboard engines, and vessels if qualified.
* Address equipment breakdowns in the field, providing advice or facilitating repairs.
* Induct staff and students on workshop safety and equipment use.
* Assist with inspections, clean-ups, asset audits, and other tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Experience in a workshop environment, maintaining tidiness and compliance, with regular servicing of assets.
* Proven mechanical troubleshooting skills (e.g., outboard engines, trailer brakes, 12v electrical systems).
* Ability to work professionally and amicably with diverse groups, supervising and managing staff and students effectively.
* Knowledge of health and safety practices, with the ability to promote positive changes.
